Daehong Communications, a subsidiary of South Korea’s Lotte Group, is expanding its blockchain partnership with Aptos to bring on-chain ticketing to cultural events and entertainment venues. The move builds on what’s already been a surprisingly productive collaboration: since integrating with the Aptos mainnet in July 2025, Daehong’s Giftiel mobile platform has issued more than 5 million digital vouchers to over 1.3 million users.
From digital coupons to concert tickets
The partnership between Daehong and Aptos was first announced in March 2024 with the goal of building a Web3 hub. The initial focus was digital vouchers, the kind of thing you’d use at a Lotte department store or convenience chain. Giftiel, the platform handling the heavy lifting, records the entire lifecycle of each voucher on-chain, from the moment it’s minted to the moment someone redeems it.
Within weeks of the soft launch, the platform had already crossed 1 million vouchers issued and 500,000 active users. By September 2025, those figures had multiplied several times over, reaching the 5 million voucher and 1.3 million user milestones.
Now Daehong is taking that same infrastructure and applying it to ticketing for cultural events, including concerts and exhibitions. The on-chain system is designed to provide verified ownership, real-time traceability, and built-in anti-counterfeit measures.
The system doesn’t require consumers to set up crypto wallets or pay gas fees. From the end user’s perspective, buying a ticket or redeeming a voucher feels like any other mobile transaction.
Lotte’s quiet blockchain strategy
Daehong Communications serves as Lotte Group’s marketing and advertising arm. The broader initiative falls under what Aptos and Daehong are calling the “Money Movement” ecosystem, designed to handle digital assets like loyalty points, vouchers, and tickets with full on-chain transparency. Every issuance, transfer, and redemption gets recorded on-chain.
Early phases of the Web3 hub also included NFT projects and loyalty program integrations tied to Lotte’s existing brands, including initiatives connected to BellyGom and Baekho Eleven. The plan going forward is to extend blockchain integration into more corners of the Lotte empire, with payments and additional loyalty programs on the roadmap alongside the ticketing rollout.
