Aston Villa are sending 23-year-old right-back Andrés García back to Spain on a season-long loan to La Liga side Getafe, just 18 months after paying an estimated £5-6 million to bring him over from Levante. García reportedly made one start across all competitions during the 2025-26 season. One.
As of July 14, García was traveling to Madrid to finalize the paperwork. The deal lets Getafe shore up their defensive roster ahead of the new campaign while Villa retains the long-term rights to a player they clearly still believe has upside, even if the immediate experiment didn’t pan out.
