We are pleased to announce the launch of a new single-asset investment fund, Canary AXL Trust $AXL. Available for eligible accredited investors. See the full announcement below:

In practice, accredited and institutional investors will be able to use the new Canary AXL Trust to gain secure exposure to Axelar’s native token.

This investment fund is the first dedicated to the growing category of “blockchain interoperability”, of which Axelar is a part.

According to the data from DefiLama, at the time of writing, Axelar has a market cap of over 471 million dollars and a TVL of over 195 million dollars.

Not only that, the new Canary AXL Trust arrives at a time of growing Axelar. In fact, in 2024 alone, Axelar recorded a 71% increase in active users, a volume of cumulative transactions that reached 10 billion dollars. Furthermore, Axelar is also supported by major institutional partners, including Apollo Global Management, Deutsche Bank, and J.P. Morgan.

At the beginning of 2025, the Axelar network became the eleventh blockchain network by TVL, surpassing one billion dollars for the first time. Axelar is expected to lead further expansion, connecting other Web3 ecosystems such as XRP Ledger, Hedera, Stellar, TON, Sui, Solana, and Bitcoin.

Canary Capital continues to want to offer institutional-level investment opportunities in crypto beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Now it is the turn of Axelar Network, which has emerged as a critical player in Web3 interoperability, providing an internet of blockchains that securely connects the world’s Web3 and financial infrastructure.

In this regard, Steven McClurg, Chief Executive Officer of Canary Capital said:

“With Axelar leading some of the most advanced interoperability solutions in Web3, we see in AXL a significant opportunity for institutional investors to gain exposure to the technology underlying next-generation blockchain connectivity. With the growing institutional demand for exposure to cryptocurrencies, we remain committed to providing structured, secure, and innovative investment vehicles, in line with the future of blockchain adoption.”

The Canary AXL Trust is a private investment vehicle, with a unique asset, designed to hold AXL, the native token of Axelar, which powers decentralized security on a scalable blockchain interoperability network.

In terms of “interoperability,” Josh Olszewicz, Portfolio Manager at Canary Capital, highlighted the following:

“As interoperability continues to shape the blockchain ecosystem, Axelar is proving to be an essential infrastructure layer. We believe in the long-term potential of Axelar’s technology and its role in enabling seamless cross-chain interactions, making AXL an interesting asset for forward-thinking investors.”

The price of AXL and some partnerships

At the time of writing, AXL is worth $0.51 and is in a price pump of +4.18% in the last 24 hours and +8% compared to seven days ago.

This price is still very far from its all-time high of almost $2.40, reached in March 2024.

Not by chance, during that period, the news was circulating that Axelar and Ripple had formed a strategic partnership to ensure smooth interoperability on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), across various blockchain networks.

Axelar had made headlines even in July 2023, thanks to its collaboration with the tech giant Microsoft, with which it works to offer new blockchain-based interoperability solutions and explore AI.
