The NFT market just had one of its most active weeks in months, and the action wasn’t confined to a single blockchain. CryptoPunks moved $3.58 million in ETH, Solana’s Boogles collection crossed $1 million in sales, and a brand-new Zcash-native project called zkSnarks raised roughly $17 million through a blind auction.
CryptoPunks remind everyone they’re still around
In the week leading up to September 22, 40 CryptoPunks changed hands for a combined 1,309 ETH, worth approximately $3.58 million at current prices. That cluster of sales represented 40% of the collection’s total trading volume for the entire month.
Boogles haunt the Solana charts
Over on Solana, the OG 1/1 Boogles collection posted 10 sales in September totaling 8,700 SOL, valued at more than $1 million. For a collection of pixelated ghost-themed NFTs, that’s a respectable haunting of the leaderboard.
Prominent crypto figures including WhiteWhale and Se Yong Park, co-founder of FOMO, participated in Boogles transactions. Some individual Boogles pieces have reportedly traded above $100,000.
zkSnarks launches big on Zcash, but questions follow
The most eye-catching debut belongs to zkSnarks, a 10,000-piece collection of “shielded identities” built on the Zcash network. The project completed a blind auction around September 18, selling 8,000 NFTs at 1.5 ZEC each, roughly $2,000 per unit, generating approximately $17 million in total auction proceeds. Secondary trading volume then exceeded 5,000 ZEC shortly after launch.
The project’s structure follows a familiar playbook: 1,000 NFTs (10% of the supply) are reserved for the team and treasury, with a 5% royalty baked into secondary sales. Privacy is the central pitch, leaning into Zcash’s zero-knowledge proof technology as both a technical feature and branding exercise.
The zkSnarks project has drawn scrutiny for what critics describe as limited utility relative to its fundraising haul.
What this cross-chain activity signals
The fact that meaningful volume showed up simultaneously on Ethereum, Solana, and Zcash is arguably the most significant detail here. CryptoPunks sales indicate that legacy collections still function as stores of value during periods of renewed interest. Boogles demonstrate that Solana can host premium-priced art markets. And zkSnarks proves that entirely new blockchain ecosystems can attract serious NFT capital.
