Neutrl Finance has temporarily halted minting, redemptions and other protocol functions following unspecified circumstances affecting its reserves.

In a statement on X on Thursday, the protocol said the decision was made after consulting legal counsel and would protect users while the situation is assessed.

Neutrl said it would establish a clear and orderly process for users and provide additional information about the timing and next steps as it becomes available. The protocol did not provide details about the size or nature of the reserve impact.

Neutrl operates NUSD, a synthetic dollar designed to remain market neutral while generating yield from crypto-market strategies. Users deposit stablecoins and receive NUSD, which can be staked into sNUSD, while the protocol seeks returns through arbitrage, funding-rate inefficiencies, illiquid asset strategies and hedging.

The project raised $5 million in seed funding in April 2025 from investors including STIX, Accomplice, Amber Group, SIG, Figment Capital and Nascent.
