Dplus KIA completes reverse sweep against KT Rolster

Sometimes the best stories in esports aren’t about dominance. They’re about looking completely finished and deciding otherwise. KT Rolster dropped the first two games against Dplus KIA in their LCK 2026 Road to MSI best-of-five series, then proceeded to win three straight, completing a reverse sweep that will be talked about for a very long time in Korean League of Legends circles.

The final scoreline read 3-2 in KT Rolster’s favor, a result that seemed borderline impossible after Dplus KIA opened with a commanding two-game lead at LoL PARK in Jongno.

The comeback that shouldn’t have worked

Game 4 is where things got genuinely absurd. KT trailed by roughly 10,000 gold at one point during the match. For those unfamiliar with League of Legends economics, a 10K gold deficit is the equivalent of being down three touchdowns in football, except the other team also has better equipment. KT clawed back from that deficit and forced a deciding fifth game.

Then Game 5 happened. KT found themselves staring at another significant gold deficit, this time around 5,000. The defining moment came when KT Rolster stole the Elder Dragon, one of the most powerful neutral objectives in the game. Securing Elder Dragon grants a team an execute-style buff that can swing entire fights. KT followed up the steal with a decisive teamfight victory that effectively ended Dplus KIA’s tournament run.

A taste of their own medicine

The cruelest part of this result for Dplus KIA fans is the context. Earlier in the year, around February 22, Dplus KIA had completed their own reverse sweep against T1 during the LCK Cup. They knew exactly what it felt like to be on the right side of a 0-2 comeback. Now they know what the wrong side feels like, too.
