- Eightcap Challenges allows traders to access simulated funded accounts through evaluation-based challenges, with successful traders keeping 80% to 90% of funded-stage profits.
- The platform is broker-owned by Eightcap and offers MT4, MT5, TradeLocker, TradingView, fast execution, and around 150 crypto trading pairs.
- Eightcap Challenges is preparing several 2026 updates, including Futures trading, a crypto-only challenge, and a new platform launch.
BeInCrypto hosted an AMA with Adam Bock, CEO of Eightcap Challenges, to discuss the future of prop trading and how funded trader models are evolving.
The conversation covered how prop trading works, why crypto traders are becoming more interested in challenge-based accounts, how Eightcap Challenges handles evaluations and payouts, and what makes its Day Trader Challenge different from traditional prop trading models.
Adam also shared his views on trader discipline, risk education, crypto payments, blockchain-based transparency, and the company’s product roadmap for 2026.
What is prop trading in simple terms?
BeInCrypto: For users who are hearing about prop trading for the first time, how would you explain it in simple words?
Adam: In simple terms, prop trading lets a trader access a leveraged trading account with a large balance by only spending a few hundred dollars.
The company provides the funds. The trader provides the skill.
Here is an example.
First, you pay a small fee to enter a challenge or evaluation phase. Then you receive a demo account with simulated funds in it, for example, a $50,000 balance. This is your evaluation account.
You need to hit a profit goal, such as making 10% profit, while following the challenge rules. For example, you may need to avoid losing more than 8% of your starting balance.
If you break the rules, you are out of the challenge and lose your entry fee. If you pass the challenge, you receive a new $50,000 account, called a funded account.
This time, if you trade it successfully and make a profit, you get to keep 80% to 90% of the profit you earned.
That is prop trading in simple terms.
Why are more crypto traders becoming interested in prop trading?
BeInCrypto: Why are more crypto traders becoming interested in prop trading instead of trading only with their own capital?
Adam: There are a few reasons why prop trading has become popular globally, and most of them are relevant beyond crypto traders.
First, you get access to much larger buying power. For a few hundred dollars, you get the opportunity to trade with much higher base capital.
If I have $400 and I am trading a real account, a 10% profit gives me $40.
With prop trading, using the same $400, I can buy a $50,000 simulated account. A 10% profit earns $5,000, which becomes $4,000 after an 80% profit split.
That is especially attractive for crypto traders because of crypto market volatility. Access to larger capital allows someone to capitalize on price movements more quickly.
Another reason prop trading has become popular is that your exposure is capped at the amount you spent on your evaluation fee. If you spent $400 to get a $50,000 simulated account, you are only risking your $400. One bad trade is not going to kill your stack.
Prop trading also rewards disciplined trading. Our challenges enforce rules designed to promote consistent trading rather than all-in gambling behavior. This helps traders become more professional and less emotional, which is critical when they are ready to trade with real capital.
For crypto traders, prop trading also opens access to other assets. You can trade crypto pairs, but you can also trade forex, indices, and commodities. This gives traders more opportunities when the crypto market is ranging or moving sideways.
What makes Eightcap Challenges different?
BeInCrypto: What makes Eightcap Challenges different from other prop trading platforms on the market today?
Adam: First, we are broker-owned by Eightcap, which brings instant trust and credibility that most prop firms cannot offer.
Eightcap is a globally regulated CFD broker with multiple Tier 1 licenses, including ASIC, FCA, and CySEC. That gives traders peace of mind that we are reputable and here for the long term, given that Eightcap has been in business since 2015.
Traders also get better trading conditions. If you trade with us, you are trading on Eightcap’s own institutional infrastructure. This means less slippage and faster execution compared to firms using third-party bridges.
We also offer Tier 1 trading platforms. Customers can choose between MT4, MT5, TradingView, and TradeLocker.
One of the things I am most excited about for your audience is our new Day Trader Challenge.
Our crypto offering also includes around 150 crypto pairs. Most firms only offer a few major coins. We offer major coins like BTC, ETH, and SOL, as well as altcoins like DOGE, WIF, and TRUMP.
We will also have a crypto-only challenge very soon.
How does the evaluation and payout system work?
BeInCrypto: Can you explain how the evaluation and payout system works for traders joining Eightcap Challenges?
Adam: When you purchase a challenge, you receive a login to your trading dashboard. This is where you find all the information you need for your challenge, including progress against your trading objectives.
Once you achieve your targets, such as a 10% profit target and a minimum of five trading days, you can hit the Request Withdrawal button on your dashboard.
You need to make sure your wallet details are updated on your dashboard so the funds can be deposited.
Our team then reviews your trading to make sure you followed the rules of the challenge. We typically process payouts to the nominated wallet within 24 to 48 hours.
For example, let’s say I am trading a $100,000 One Phase account, which I bought for $659.
This has a 10% profit target and an 8% maximum drawdown. It also requires a minimum of five trading days, so I cannot make all my profit on one lucky trade in a single day.
I pass the evaluation stage by hitting the $10,000 profit target and then reach the funded stage. I start trading a new $100,000 account.
If I make a $5,000 profit on my funded account and request a withdrawal, our risk team reviews the trades. Assuming I have not broken any prohibited trading rules, I receive $4,000, which is 80% of the $5,000 profit.
The funds hit my wallet, my account is reset back to $100,000, and I can start trading again on the same account.
What makes the Day Trader Challenge unique?
BeInCrypto: Your Day Trader Challenge has been getting a lot of attention recently. What makes this challenge unique?
Adam: I am really proud of this product because it is the first of its kind in the market.
It offers something different from a traditional prop challenge, which can take several days or weeks to complete. With Day Trader, the challenge lasts only a few hours, and the process is simple.
You choose the challenge duration. It can be as little as one hour or as long as eight hours.
You choose your price point. You can start as low as $5 and go all the way up to $500 if you want to take on more risk.
You also choose your risk tolerance through a multiplier. You can select 2x, 5x, or 10x your initial stake.
The higher the multiplier, the harder the challenge becomes.
If you pass the challenge, you get paid the next day.
I like that it is quick, customizable, and accessible to many traders because users can start with as little as $5. It is also gamified and fun, but the time deadline definitely adds pressure.
Why did Eightcap Challenges focus on short-term trading challenges?
BeInCrypto: Why did your team decide to focus specifically on short-term and day trading challenges?
Adam: We wanted a product for traders who do not want to be tied to a challenge for several days or weeks.
It is for people who want to focus on trading a specific session.
Many people are time-poor and want faster outcomes, so this product serves that need. The feedback has been very positive so far.
How much do execution speed, interface, and trading tools affect trader performance?
BeInCrypto: How much do execution speed, interface, and trading tools actually affect trader performance in real market conditions?
Adam: A lot.
The first question most partners ask before they sign up with us or decide to work with us is whether they can take a free challenge to test the spreads and execution speed.
They want to make sure those things are spot on because they know how important they are for their traders.
I have not had anyone come back and say they had issues. They like the speed and trading conditions.
In high-volatility environments like crypto, a 200-millisecond delay can be the difference between getting filled at your stop loss or getting skipped and losing an extra 2%.
For prop traders, where breaching a drawdown limit means a failed account, these technical details can be the difference between a payout and losing the account.
Traders know what good execution looks like.
What promotions and add-ons are currently available?
BeInCrypto: Can you tell us more about current promotions, including free accounts and add-ons?
Adam: We have a few features worth highlighting.
The Profit Split Add-On gives traders the ability to keep 90% of the profit they make in the funded stage instead of 80%.
The Early Payout Option allows traders to receive payouts after three or seven days instead of 14 days.
Our newest add-on is Insurance. With this, traders can buy a second life. If they fail their first challenge, their account gets reset and they receive another chance to pass the evaluation account.
For the BeInCrypto audience, users who spend $200 or more on any product will receive a free Two-Phase $5,000 Challenge account, valued at $59.
If you buy a $200 Day Trader account or a $25,000 account, which starts at $219, you qualify.
The code is BEINCRYPTO5K at checkout.
We will also have more promotions and product news on our Instagram page.
What are Eightcap Challenges’ main goals for 2026?
BeInCrypto: What are the next big goals and plans for Eightcap Challenges in 2026?
Adam: We have a big year planned.
We are also rolling out Futures trading, which is a big priority for our US market and something we are already working on.
Finally, we will have a crypto-only challenge, which I think your audience will really appreciate.
We are adding ideas to our backlog every day, and we would love to hear ideas from the community as well.
What separates successful prop traders from those who fail evaluations?
Community question: What separates consistently profitable prop traders from those who fail evaluations repeatedly, particularly in terms of psychology, discipline, and strategy execution?
Adam: The successful traders are usually the ones who can trade with discipline, have a structured plan, and stick to it.
That might mean only trading a particular session, sticking to one asset class, using a specific trading strategy, or keeping consistent lot sizes.
We often see revenge trading or scattergun trading from traders, and that usually does not go well.
It may sound boring, but patience, consistency, structure, and discipline are what we are looking for.
How does Eightcap Challenges approach risk education?
Community question: Eightcap places strong emphasis on risk disclosures and trader education throughout its platform. How does the company work to ensure traders fully understand the risks associated with leveraged CFD and Forex trading?
Adam: As a globally regulated CFD broker, Eightcap is conscious of meeting all requirements across different markets.
We want to make sure our traders are empowered with the information they need.
“No surprises” is a big mantra of mine.
Our challenges have rules, but they are not hidden. We want to be transparent with our traders.
We have an active Discord community with resources for traders to ask questions and engage with others. We also have chatbot and support resources.
Our community is growing every day.
What are the biggest misconceptions about prop trading?
Community question: What are the biggest misconceptions people currently have about prop trading, and how might the industry’s image evolve as more educational resources and professional trading ecosystems emerge?
Adam: As the prop trading industry matures, reputation will become critically important. That is where being part of Eightcap is a huge asset for us.
Trader expectations are rising.
I think the industry will continue to consolidate because smaller players may struggle to compete. They often cannot offer the same platforms, technology, or product range.
Being broker-owned is a huge asset for us.
Trust is becoming more important overall. The industry has not reached the mainstream yet, but it is getting there.
Why offer several challenge structures?
Community question: What was the strategic reasoning behind offering multiple challenge structures such as Day Trader, One Phase, and Two Phase models?
Adam: We have different products for different types of traders.
Two Phase challenges are slightly cheaper than One Phase challenges. They require a little more work and have slightly easier rules, so they can be better for beginner traders.
The add-ons allow traders to customize their trading conditions around their objectives, such as faster payouts or higher profit splits.
Day Trader Challenges are for traders who want a different trading experience, where they trade for only a few hours and can access payouts the next day if they pass.
How could blockchain, crypto, and DeFi influence prop trading?
Community question: How do you see blockchain, crypto, and DeFi influencing prop trading?
Adam: It is already huge and influences a lot of our thinking.
Stablecoins have become a very popular payment method for challenges, and we welcome that.
We also offer crypto as a payment method for users receiving payouts, which makes the experience faster and more secure.
All our payout certificates are already published in real time on the blockchain, which provides confidence and certainty to the market.
We are seeing growing demand for on-chain mechanisms, both in gamified experiences and across the end-to-end user experience as it becomes more Web3-oriented.
We are actively working on the next phase of our challenge from a user experience perspective.
