England selected Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri as its official 2026 World Cup base camp, a decision the Football Association announced back in February 2026. The facility features nine training fields, split between six synthetic grass and three natural grass pitches.
The setup
The squad is staying at the Inn at Meadowbrook in Prairie Village, Kansas, while using Swope Soccer Village for daily training sessions. Local residents reportedly displayed welcome signs featuring the iconic Three Lions crest ahead of the team’s arrival.
Kansas City serves as one of several host cities for the expanded 48-team tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. England’s group stage matches, however, are scheduled at venues outside Kansas City, making this purely a preparation hub.
The facility has history in professional soccer, having previously served as a training ground for Sporting Kansas City.
One mildly interesting subplot: reports surfaced that the team’s equipment trailer was stolen close to their arrival date, potentially leaving the squad short on gear.
