Erling Haaland completes the set with goals against all 25 Premier League opponents

Erling Haaland has now scored against every single Premier League team he has faced. The Manchester City striker netted against Sunderland to check off the 25th and final name on his list, ending what had become one of football’s most stubborn statistical holdouts.

The Sunderland problem

Sunderland had emerged as a genuine curiosity in Haaland’s otherwise flawless ledger. The Black Cats earned promotion ahead of the 2025/26 season and kept Haaland off the scoresheet across multiple meetings. A 0-0 draw on January 1, 2026, was part of a run where Sunderland’s defense refused to cooperate with the inevitable. While 24 other teams had been duly dispatched, Sunderland sat as the one remaining name on his list.

That streak is now over. Haaland found the net against Sunderland in their latest meeting, completing a full house against every opponent he has encountered since joining City from Borussia Dortmund in July 2022.

The achievement puts him in rare company. Harry Kane previously scored against all 32 Premier League teams he faced across his career. Haaland has done it against 25 in roughly four years.

116 goals and counting

As of September 2026, Haaland has scored approximately 116 goals in around 137 appearances, translating to roughly 0.85 goals per game. He holds the record for the fastest player to reach 50 Premier League goals and the fastest to 100.

By February 2024, he had scored against all 21 teams he had faced in the competition, capping that initial run with a goal against Brentford. Coventry entered the picture during the 2026 season and were added to the collection. Sunderland proved trickier, their defensive organization across multiple meetings creating a genuine anomaly in his record.

The milestone also frames an interesting comparison with Kane’s achievement. Kane scored against 32 teams across a significantly longer Premier League career that spanned multiple clubs. Haaland reached 25 in roughly a third of the time, playing for a dominant side that creates far more scoring opportunities per match than most teams.
