Esports milestones highlight gaming’s growing economic footprint as crypto sponsorships reshape competitive scenes

5 hours ago 18

Competitive gaming just hit another statistical landmark that most people outside esports won’t care about, but probably should. Gen.G’s t3xture, born Kim Na-ra, has become only the third player in VCT Pacific history to accumulate 3,000 all-time kills in Riot Games’ Valorant Champions Tour, the premier competitive circuit for one of the world’s fastest-growing tactical shooters.

The achievement in context

T1’s Meteor was the first player to cross the 3,000-kill threshold in VCT Pacific, reaching that mark on May 2, 2026. Now t3xture has followed as the third to join that exclusive club, cementing his status as one of the region’s most consistent fraggers since joining Gen.G in September 2023.

The 26-year-old South Korean has reported career earnings exceeding $170,000. That number might sound modest compared to traditional sports salaries, but it represents only tournament prize money, not the sponsorship deals, team salaries, and streaming revenue that form the bulk of pro player compensation.

Gen.G has been a fixture in international competition, including appearances at events like Masters Shanghai. Individual kill milestones are essentially the esports equivalent of a baseball player’s career hit total. They measure sustained excellence across hundreds of matches and multiple competitive seasons. Reaching 3,000 kills means t3xture has been performing at an elite level consistently, not just popping off in a handful of highlight-reel moments.
