Ethereum Foundation welcomes pcaversaccio to its board

1 hour ago 7

The Ethereum Foundation announced on July 29 that it has appointed pcaversaccio, a longtime Ethereum contributor and privacy advocate, to its board of directors.

Pcaversaccio is best known in Ethereum circles for contributions that sit at the intersection of developer tooling, security, and privacy. He contributed to the Create2Deployer tool, published on July 16, and previously provided input on the EF’s treasury policy established in June 2025.

His security credentials run deep. He co-founded SEAL 911, an emergency security response initiative designed to provide rapid-fire assistance when protocols get exploited.

Beyond the technical work, pcaversaccio is a member of the Silviculture Society and authored the Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto, a document that articulates a vision of Ethereum rooted in the original cypherpunk ethos of privacy, individual sovereignty, and resistance to surveillance.

A foundation in flux

The Ethereum Foundation has seen both co-executive directors depart, cut roughly 20% of its staff, and enacted a strategic pivot that concentrated resources into a more focused “Protocol” division.

As of late July 2026, the board includes President Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, and Patrick Storchenegger, alongside the newly appointed pcaversaccio.

The privacy angle

By elevating someone who authored the Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto to the board level, the EF is making a governance-level statement about where privacy sits in its priority stack.

What this means for investors

As regulatory scrutiny around crypto privacy tools intensifies globally, the EF’s willingness to place a privacy advocate on its board could become a differentiator in how institutional investors evaluate Ethereum’s governance posture.

With DeFi exploits remaining a persistent drain on the ecosystem, having SEAL 911’s co-founder at the governance level could accelerate the EF’s investment in security infrastructure.

A 20% staff reduction paired with a concentrated Protocol division suggests the EF is trying to do fewer things better. Traders and investors should watch how this leaner, more technically focused EF translates into development velocity on Ethereum’s roadmap.
