ACF Fiorentina is bringing in Alex Jiménez on loan from AFC Bournemouth, with a buy option set at €20 million. The deal marks the third major club move in roughly two years for the 21-year-old Spanish full-back.

The transfer chain, explained like a trade history

Jiménez came up through Real Madrid’s legendary youth academy before moving to AC Milan in 2024.

On September 1, 2025, Bournemouth acquired him on loan from Milan with an obligation-to-buy clause. That clause activated after he racked up approximately 16 to 18 Premier League starts.

Bournemouth exercised that obligation in February 2026, paying a base fee of €19.5 million. The deal included add-ons that could push the total to €24.5 million. Transfer proceeds were reportedly shared between Milan and Real Madrid.

Now Fiorentina is picking up Jiménez on loan with a €20 million buy option.

Jiménez made 31 appearances for Bournemouth in the 2025-26 season and scored one goal. His trajectory hit a speed bump in May 2026 when a club investigation into alleged inappropriate social media messages led to a temporary suspension from the matchday squad.

The €20 million buy option Fiorentina holds is priced right at Bournemouth’s acquisition cost of €19.5 million base fee. Bournemouth isn’t marking him up. They’re looking to recoup their investment if Fiorentina decides to commit.
