FNATIC signs Cloudezeee ahead of Stage 2 competition

5 hours ago 12

FNATIC has added Russian Valorant player Kirill “Cloud” Nekhozhin, better known as Cloudezeee, to its roster ahead of VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2. The 22-year-old arrives from GIANTX, where he served as captain, and will be based in London as a stand-in while regular starter Sylvain “Veqaj” Pattyn is expected to be unavailable at the start of the stage.

Why Cloud, and why now

Cloud has been competing at the VCT EMEA level since GIANTX first entered the league in 2023. This is also Cloud’s first move to another VCT EMEA team, making it a significant shift in his career trajectory.

The stand-in designation is worth paying attention to. This isn’t being framed as a permanent acquisition. It’s a roster patch, a tactical decision to keep the team competitive while Veqaj is out.

FNATIC’s roster management playbook

Cloud being based in London also matters from a logistics standpoint. FNATIC’s operations hub is in London, so having a stand-in who can physically be present with the team, rather than practicing remotely from another country, removes one of the biggest friction points in temporary roster arrangements.

What this means for the VCT EMEA landscape

For GIANTX, losing their captain raises questions about their own Stage 2 preparations. Cloud has been with that roster since their VCT EMEA debut in 2023.
