Choi “Zeus” Woo-je just picked up another accolade. The Hanwha Life Esports top laner was named Player of the Series in the LCK, adding yet another line to a resume that already reads like esports royalty.
The career behind the award
Zeus is a two-time League of Legends World Champion, having claimed titles in both 2023 and 2024. He was also named the Worlds Finals MVP in 2023.
Born on January 31, 2004, Zeus is still just 21 years old. He’s already collected multiple LCK Top Laner of the Year titles, making him one of the most decorated players at his position in the league’s history.
His employer, Hanwha Life Esports, announced around November 28, 2025, that Zeus had re-signed for the 2026 LCK season. HLE is backed by the Hanwha Group, one of South Korea’s largest conglomerates with deep pockets across insurance, defense, solar energy, and now competitive gaming.
The Zeus token confusion
Every time “Zeus” trends on social media, a certain subset of crypto Twitter starts buzzing about the Zeus Network token, which trades under the ticker ZEUS. The token has been hovering around $0.002 in recent trading.
The Zeus Network token has absolutely zero connection to Choi Woo-je, Hanwha Life Esports, or anything happening in the LCK. The name overlap is pure coincidence.
Esports and crypto: still parallel lines
Despite years of speculation about blockchain-based gaming, NFT player cards, and tokenized team ownership, the competitive esports ecosystem remains firmly traditional. Teams are funded by corporate sponsors, conglomerate backing, and media rights deals. Prize pools come from tournament organizers and game publishers like Riot Games, not decentralized autonomous organizations.
Zeus winning Player of the Series is a story about elite talent in competitive gaming. It’s not a catalyst for any token, protocol, or DeFi narrative. And at $0.002, the Zeus Network token isn’t that bridge.
