Hull City has reached an agreement to bring Mohamed-Ali Cho to the Premier League from OGC Nice, with the transfer fee set at £13 million plus additional performance-based payments.

Cho, the 22-year-old French forward, has been on Hull’s radar for some time. The two clubs had previously been in discussions over a potential move earlier in August, with talks at one point centering on a figure closer to €20 million, roughly £17 million. That earlier iteration of the deal reportedly collapsed due to complications around paperwork and medical evaluations, compounded by Hull’s growing injury concerns across the squad.

A second swing at the deal

Cho originally joined OGC Nice in January 2024 for a fee of approximately €12 million. His time at the Ligue 1 club has been somewhat stop-and-start, with minor injuries limiting his appearances since his arrival. Born on January 19, 2004, the forward is still young enough to be considered a developmental asset.

Hull’s Premier League ambitions take shape

Hull City’s return to the Premier League is still a relatively fresh story. The club secured promotion on May 23, 2026, defeating Middlesbrough 1-0 in the Championship playoff final.

Hull’s injury situation has added urgency to their recruitment. Reports from earlier in August indicated that the squad was already dealing with fitness problems that threatened to thin an already modest roster.

What this means for Hull’s season

The add-ons structure also tells a story. By loading a portion of the fee into performance-based payments, Hull protect themselves financially if Cho doesn’t hit the ground running.
