Hyperscale Data, the AI data center company trading on NYSE American under the ticker GPUS, just added another 18.59 Bitcoin to its treasury. That brings the company’s total stash to 1,106.04 BTC, worth roughly $71.7 million at recent prices.

From pocket change to serious stack

Hyperscale Data went from holding about 11 BTC in early 2025 to crossing the 1,000 BTC threshold in roughly 18 months. By March 2026, the company held approximately 627.9 BTC. Then in early July, the company scooped up 67 BTC, followed by another 50.65 BTC shortly after, pushing the total to 899.65 BTC. By July 21, holdings had jumped to 1,087.45 BTC. A week later, this latest 18.59 BTC purchase nudged the total past 1,100.

The acquisition strategy combines open-market purchases with Bitcoin mining outputs, giving the company multiple paths to accumulate Bitcoin without relying entirely on market timing.

The man behind the strategy

Executive Chairman Milton “Todd” Ault III has positioned Bitcoin as what he calls a core treasury asset, one designed to enhance financial flexibility across the company’s operations. Management has tied the Bitcoin strategy directly to the company’s broader ambitions in AI infrastructure, robotics, and high-performance computing. The company has also set an ambitious goal of attaining a $100 million Bitcoin treasury.

Hyperscale Data also maintains a position in 10,000 ounces of silver alongside its Bitcoin holdings.

Where this fits in the corporate Bitcoin playbook

Hyperscale Data is part of a growing cohort of public companies treating Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset. The playbook was popularized by MicroStrategy, now known as Strategy, which began its accumulation back in 2020 and currently holds hundreds of thousands of BTC.

The company’s dual identity as an AI data center operator and Bitcoin accumulator creates an operational throughline: both activities require massive compute infrastructure and access to cheap power. The July buying spree, which occurred during a period of generally elevated Bitcoin prices, suggests the company isn’t waiting for pullbacks but building the position regardless of short-term price action.
