Iranian state television issues $10M threat against Barron Trump

Iranian state television broadcast a video targeting Barron Trump, the 20-year-old son of President Donald Trump, reportedly offering a $10 million reward for anyone who can reach him. The segment, aired by IRGC-affiliated outlets and Channel 3, was titled “Where to kill Barron Trump?” and allegedly claimed to track his movements.

The broadcast represents a significant escalation in what has become a pattern of increasingly personal threats from Iranian state media directed at the Trump family. The Secret Service has confirmed it is actively investigating and monitoring the situation.

A pattern of threats against the Trump family

In July 2026, the Tasnim News Agency, which is closely linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, released a separate video targeting First Lady Melania Trump with explicit assassination suggestions.

That same month, billboards appeared across Tehran carrying slogans like “Blood for blood,” publicly calling for violence against the president and his relatives.

The reported bounty on Barron Trump reportedly includes an additional incentive: the sum would be doubled if the attack were carried out by a woman.

Barron Trump currently receives full-time Secret Service protection, a standard provision for immediate family members of a sitting president. The agency has stated it is aware of and closely monitoring these threats to safeguard individuals under its protection.

Roots in the Soleimani killing

The through-line connecting these threats runs back to January 2020, when a US drone strike killed Qasem Soleimani, the commander of Iran’s Quds Force, at Baghdad International Airport.

Propaganda as policy

In 2022, the Department of Justice charged an IRGC member in connection with a plot to assassinate former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
