JPMorgan hires Executive Director for digital assets as bank doubles down on blockchain strategy

1 hour ago 13

JPMorgan Chase is recruiting an Executive Director for digital assets, adding another senior hire to a division that has quietly become one of the most ambitious blockchain operations in traditional finance. The role, which surfaced in August 2026, sits within a broader hiring push that spans multiple seniority levels across the bank’s digital assets teams.

The new Executive Director role spans JPMorgan’s Consumer & Community Bank Digital Assets segment and its Markets Digital Assets group.

Adam Carson, who heads Chase Digital Assets, has been transparent about the scope of the hiring effort. Carson has indicated the bank is actively recruiting across various seniority levels within his unit, suggesting a team that’s scaling up rather than filling a single vacancy.

The most notable personnel move came in April 2026, when JPMorgan brought in Oliver Harris, a former Goldman Sachs executive, to lead the Kinexys blockchain division.

Kinexys itself has become the centerpiece of JPMorgan’s blockchain strategy. The platform supports tokenized money market funds, programmable payments, and multi-currency blockchain deposit accounts.

No candidate has been confirmed for the Executive Director role yet. But the position itself, and the broader hiring pattern it represents, tells a clearer story than any single appointment could. JPMorgan is betting that blockchain-based financial infrastructure will be a core part of how banking works going forward, and it’s staffing accordingly.
