KyberSwap launches Reality-issued rTokens for eligible users

1 week ago 24

KyberSwap has added support for Reality-issued rTokens, giving eligible users the ability to trade tokenized versions of US stocks and ETFs through the decentralized exchange aggregator. The integration connects one of DeFi’s veteran trading platforms with a rapidly growing catalog of equity-linked tokens that already spans more than 1,700 securities.

Reality’s rTokens are ERC-20 tokens backed 1:1 by actual equities held in custody through Alpaca Securities, with daily third-party attestations conducted by The Network Firm to verify reserves.

What rTokens actually are

Each token, whether it’s rNVDA representing Nvidia shares or rTSLA representing Tesla, tracks its underlying equity with a 1:1 economic exposure model. When someone mints an rToken, a corresponding share sits in custody. When they burn it, the share gets released. The whole system coordinates liquidity with major exchanges like Nasdaq and NYSE through a mint-and-burn mechanism.

The tokens live on the Arbitrum and Morph networks. By August 6, 2026, Reality’s tokenized assets had reached approximately $138 million in market capitalization, with 69 tokens deployed on Arbitrum alone. Key contributors to that figure included rMU, rSNDK, and rNVDA.

Reality’s coverage represents roughly 95% of US market trading volume. Eligible holders receive dividend payments in stablecoins rather than needing to navigate fiat rails or wait for traditional distribution cycles.

The KyberSwap integration

With rTokens now available on the platform, eligible users can swap these tokenized equities against major tokens like ETH and USDT without needing to convert into specific stablecoins first. KyberSwap has been operational since 2018. Its aggregation engine routes trades across multiple liquidity sources to find optimal pricing.

Because rTokens are standard ERC-20 tokens, they can be plugged into other DeFi applications: used as collateral for lending protocols, deposited into liquidity pools, or bundled into yield strategies.

Who can actually use this

rTokens are classified as unregistered securities and are available only to eligible non-US persons in certain permitted jurisdictions. The list of approved countries includes El Salvador, South Africa, and New Zealand, among others. US residents are excluded entirely.

Bitget Wallet’s integration of rTokens, completed by September 15, 2026, opened access to over 100 million users across the wallet’s user base.

Reality launched its protocol between May and June 2026, meaning the $138 million market cap figure was achieved in roughly two to three months. Reality operates within the Bitget ecosystem and uses regulated custody through Alpaca Securities combined with DeFi composability on Layer 2 networks.
