On September 24, Ondo Finance revealed the launch of three blockchain-native portfolio tokens constructed around investment methodologies created by BlackRock.
Branded as Ondo Intelligent Portfolios, these digital assets comprise BLKHIon, designed for high-income generation, BLKDIGon, targeting diversified growth, and BLKGRWon, oriented toward aggressive growth strategies.
Token holders gain financial exposure to diversified asset collections through these instruments. According to Ondo, investors can verify portfolio compositions, asset allocations, and rebalancing timelines directly on the blockchain whenever desired.
The income-focused strategy prioritizes fixed-income securities. The growth-oriented portfolios combine various allocations across equities, bonds, and Bitcoin exchange-traded products, tailored to each specific strategy.
Lisa O’Connor, who leads BlackRock’s Model Portfolio Solutions division globally, described the collaboration as bringing proven investment frameworks to blockchain technology. BlackRock engineered the underlying strategies, while Ondo handles token creation and platform operations.
American Investors Currently Excluded
Access to these newly introduced portfolio tokens remains limited to qualified investors residing beyond U.S. jurisdiction. This geographical restriction aligns with Ondo’s current framework for its tokenized equity offerings.
Three days earlier, on September 21, Ondo partnered with Alpaca to introduce functionality allowing institutional clients to transform conventional stocks or ETFs into Ondo Stocks tokens operating on Ethereum and BNB Chain networks.
The ONDO token price spiked following this announcement. According to CoinGecko, the asset traded around $0.497, representing roughly an 18% climb over one day, fluctuating between $0.406 and $0.511 during the period.
Ondo PriceMarket analyst Jesse Olson shared observations that $ONDO had entered “ultra bullish” territory based on daily chart patterns, highlighting the 25% daily gain and characterizing the momentum as “higher > lower.”
Chart Patterns Suggest Potential Upward Movement
ONDO penetrated a triangular consolidation pattern before retracing from resistance around $0.46. Technical analyst LAR, referenced by cryptocurrency market observers, identified this breakout as establishing a bullish structure with potential upside extending toward the $1.17 liquidity target zone.
LAR outlined plans to build positions through limit orders positioned at $0.3800, $0.3540, and $0.3390, implementing downside protection via a stop-loss at $0.3200 beneath the identified support zone.
TradingView charts illustrated ONDO ranging between $0.33 and $0.35 throughout early September before the decisive rally toward $0.46. The token subsequently pulled back toward approximately $0.41618 following a pronounced bearish candlestick.
Currently, ONDO trades beneath its 20-period exponential moving average at $0.42910 and the middle Bollinger Band positioned at $0.43437. The lower Bollinger Band boundary resides at $0.41244.
Futures market activity has cooled. CoinGlass metrics indicated trading volume decreased 10.93% to $476.02 million, with open interest contracting 7.94% to $308.88 million.
Additionally, Ondo enhanced its Ondo Private Client program catering to affluent users of Ondo Stocks, introducing Platinum, Diamond, and Obsidian membership levels determined by wallet asset holdings.
The platform remains entangled in litigation concerning corporate governance stemming from founder Nathan Allman’s death in May. According to CoinDesk reporting, Allman’s mother, additional family members, and an early-stage investor are participating in legal proceedings regarding estate matters.
