Paris Saint-Germain reaches verbal agreement with Ajax for Mika Godts in €55 million deal

PSG and Ajax have shaken hands, at least verbally, on a deal that will send Mika Godts to Paris for approximately €55 million. The Belgian left winger, still just 21 years old, has already agreed to personal terms on a contract running through 2031.

That price tag could climb to somewhere between €55 million and €58 million depending on performance-related add-ons.

How the deal came together

This wasn’t a quick courtship. PSG’s initial approaches landed in the €40-45 million range, and Ajax’s technical director Jordi Cruijff wasn’t interested. Cruijff had his sights set on a valuation closer to €60-65 million.

The two sides spent several weeks narrowing that gap. The verbal agreement, reached around August 14, 2026, represents a compromise that both clubs can live with.

Godts’s agent, Niels De Jonck, has indicated that medical formalities are scheduled for August 15-16, 2026.

Godts himself acknowledged the ongoing negotiations publicly but was careful to maintain his commitment to Ajax until the paperwork is signed.

What PSG is getting

Born on June 7, 2005, in Leuven, Belgium, Godts is a natural left winger. He broke through at Ajax as a teenager and quickly established himself as one of the Eredivisie’s most dangerous wide players, posting impressive goal and assist numbers during his breakout campaign.

His profile fits squarely into what PSG has been shopping for. The club has been linked with multiple wingers in recent months as it looks to bolster an attacking lineup. Godts offers pace, directness, and the kind of progressive ball-carrying that Luis Enrique’s possession-heavy system thrives on.

A contract through 2031 gives PSG five years of control.
