Ripple Targets $13T Corporate Treasury Market to Expand RLUSD

1 hour ago 12

Ripple has added RLUSD and XRP capabilities to its GTreasury-based treasury platform, positioning the dollar-backed stablecoin within workflows used by corporate finance teams. The company said the platform facilitated $13 trillion in payments volume during 2025, a figure that reflects transactions processed by customers—not RLUSD holdings or stablecoin assets under management.

The launch of Digital Account Management and Unified Treasury on April 1 gives chief financial officers a single platform to view and manage fiat currency, XRP and RLUSD, according to Ripple Treasury. The move extends Ripple’s stablecoin strategy beyond a standalone payments product and into corporate cash-management operations.

Ripple Treasury adds RLUSD and XRP to CFO workflows

Digital Account Management and Unified Treasury bring digital assets into the same system as conventional treasury functions. Ripple said CFOs can oversee fiat, XRP and RLUSD in one platform. Built on GTreasury, Ripple’s treasury-management platform for its corporate offering, the product incorporates digital assets into the controls and reporting processes used for corporate funds. CoinDesk reported that the system provides real-time valuations, automated audit trails and connections to external custodians while supporting management of RLUSD and XRP alongside fiat.

The $13 trillion figure measures payments volume, not RLUSD holdings

Ripple said the GTreasury-based platform facilitated $13 trillion in payments volume in 2025 for customers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. The company’s figure concerns transaction flows through the platform.

Ripple stablecoin chief Jack McDonald separately said Ripple Treasury clients process approximately $13 trillion in annual transactions in a September 12 interview report, according to Stack & Story’s account of a CoinDesk interview.

Neither statement says that $13 trillion was held in RLUSD or represents RLUSD assets under management. Ripple instead presents the corporate payments, liquidity and treasury activity as a distribution opportunity for the stablecoin and identifies corporate treasury as a major growth avenue; the volume itself does not establish current RLUSD adoption or usage in a particular settlement.

RLUSD’s role in settlement and treasury flows

Ripple describes RLUSD as a dollar-backed stablecoin that is redeemable 1:1 and supported by segregated cash and cash-equivalent reserves. The company says the token is intended for payments, settlement and treasury flows, as set out on Ripple’s RLUSD product page.

Within the new treasury offering, that intended role is more specific: RLUSD can sit beside fiat balances and XRP in a corporate management environment. The platform’s valuation, audit-trail and custodian connections give companies tools to monitor those assets through the same operational layer, according to CoinDesk’s coverage.

Ripple’s expansion thus rests on access to a high-volume treasury workflow, not a claim that the workflow has already converted into RLUSD balances. McDonald’s identification of corporate treasury as a growth opportunity points to the next test for the rollout: whether clients processing those transaction flows adopt the stablecoin for settlement and treasury activity.
