Sandro Tonali approves transfer to Tottenham as talks progress

1 hour ago 10

Sandro Tonali wants to be a Tottenham player. The Italian midfielder has given the green light to a move to north London, agreeing personal terms while the two clubs continue haggling over a transfer fee that could reach nine figures.

Tottenham have submitted bids in the range of £75 million to £80 million for the 26-year-old. Newcastle have swatted those offers away, valuing Tonali somewhere between £85 million and £100 million.

The numbers behind the negotiation

Newcastle signed him from AC Milan for £55 million back in 2023. Tonali still has three years left on his contract, which runs through 2029.

Tonali has reportedly discussed a contract worth over £275,000 per week with Tottenham.

Why Tottenham want Tonali this badly

Roberto De Zerbi, Tottenham’s manager, has reportedly made Tonali a priority target for the summer window.

Tottenham are in the middle of a summer rebuild, trying to assemble a squad that can compete at the top end of the Premier League.

What stands between Tonali and a Spurs shirt

Newcastle want at least £85 million. Tottenham have offered up to £80 million. That £5 million to £20 million gap is where the real negotiation lives.
