Stilla AI raises $5M to build multiplayer AI agents for workplace collaboration

Stilla, a Stockholm-based AI startup building what it calls a “multiplayer AI agent” for workplace communication, has been quietly gaining traction since emerging from stealth in January 2026. Founded by former Shopify executives Siavash Ghorbani and Kaj Drobin in 2024, the company secured a $5 million pre-seed round led by General Catalyst and has already landed enterprise customers including Spotify and Ramp.

The company’s pitch is straightforward: modern teams use dozens of tools, from Slack to Microsoft Teams to project management platforms, and context gets lost between them. Stilla’s AI agent sits across those tools and maintains a shared understanding of what’s happening, automating tasks like meeting notes and ticket creation without forcing teams to change their workflows.

What Stilla actually does

The platform integrates with over 3,000 tools, creating a persistent layer of context that follows conversations and projects wherever they happen.

The “multiplayer” framing is deliberate. Most AI assistants today operate in single-player mode: one person asks a question, one person gets an answer. Stilla’s approach is designed for teams, where the AI agent understands not just individual queries but the broader context of what a group is working on together.

By May 2026, Stilla had expanded its feature set to include deep compatibility with the Microsoft ecosystem, covering Teams and SharePoint.

A crowded but hungry market

General Catalyst leading the pre-seed round adds credibility. The firm has backed companies like Stripe, Airbnb, and HubSpot, and its willingness to bet on Stilla at such an early stage suggests conviction in both the founders and the market opportunity. A $5 million pre-seed is modest by today’s AI funding standards, where seed rounds regularly clear $10 million, but it’s enough to build a product and prove out demand before raising a larger round.
