Uniswap processes over $70B in monthly volume, surpassing next three DEXs combined

1 hour ago 19

Uniswap moved $70.6 billion in trading volume over the past 30 days, a figure that eclipses the combined output of its three closest competitors. To put that in perspective, PancakeSwap, BisonFi, and Meteora together managed roughly $44.6 billion in the same period.

Where the volume is coming from

Robinhood Chain contributed approximately $26 billion to Uniswap’s monthly volume, making it the protocol’s single largest source of trading activity. Ethereum came in second at roughly $23 billion. Base, BSC, and Arbitrum rounded out the remaining share.

PancakeSwap, which operates primarily on BNB Chain, recorded about $29.8 billion in 30-day volume. BisonFi came in at $8.9 billion, while Meteora and Raydium each clocked approximately $5.9 billion.

A protocol approaching $3.7 trillion in lifetime volume

Uniswap’s cumulative trading volume now sits near $3.7 trillion since its launch in 2018. Cumulative fees have reached approximately $5.1 billion as of early August.

The protocol averaged $51.1 billion in monthly volume from January through July this year. The $70.6 billion figure for the most recent 30-day window represents a roughly 38% jump above that average.

Late August saw 28.9 million swaps recorded in a single week. Uniswap has reportedly handled more USDC volume than every other DEX combined in recent periods.

Governance, burns, and sustainability

Uniswap’s governance framework, anchored by the UNI token, has introduced mechanisms designed to tie protocol economics more directly to usage. Initiatives like Firepit and TokenJar connect burn mechanics to the fee structure.

On September 4, a single-day UNI burn exceeded $1 million, driven largely by activity on Robinhood Chain.

With v3 introducing concentrated liquidity positions and v4 pushing further into customizable pool logic, the platform has steadily widened the design space for liquidity providers.

What this means for the competitive landscape

PancakeSwap has carved out a defensible position on BNB Chain, and Solana-native DEXs like Raydium and Meteora serve ecosystems where Uniswap has less presence. A $70.6 billion month against PancakeSwap’s $29.8 billion represents a ratio of roughly 2.4 to 1, and the remaining competitors fall off sharply from there.

Uniswap has already begun facilitating trading in tokenized real-world assets, supported by its deep liquidity and wide integrator ecosystem.
