Wrtn Technologies, a South Korean AI company, just closed a funding round that puts it in the same valuation neighborhood as some well-known Western AI startups. The company raised approximately 100 billion won, or about $72 million, in a Series C round that values it at 1.2 trillion won, roughly $870 million.

The money and who’s writing the checks

The round brought in new investors Coreline Ventures and Eugene Asset Management alongside existing backers Goodwater Capital and Antler Global. With this latest injection, Wrtn’s total funding now sits at around 230 billion won, or approximately $167 million.

OOC and the storytelling bet

Launched in May 2026, OOC hit approximately 10 billion won (about $7.2 million) in monthly revenue within three months. Wrtn’s average daily user engagement across its core platforms clocks in at around two hours.

Revenue trajectory and the profitability question

The company projects its 2026 revenue will exceed 200 billion won, approximately $145 million. That would represent more than a fourfold increase from the roughly 47 billion won it generated the previous year. The valuation of $870 million against projected revenue of $145 million implies a revenue multiple of roughly 6x.

Safety measures and the teenage user problem

Wrtn’s Crack AI entertainment platform is implementing time limits, parental consent requirements, and spending caps specifically for teenage users.
