Key Highlights

  • XRP bounced back above $1.40 following a recovery from the $1.24–$1.26 range.
  • Analyst Ali Martinez noted that major holders acquired 1.54 billion XRP tokens valued at approximately $2.2 billion within a 96-hour period.
  • Data from CryptoQuant showed roughly 1.6 billion XRP tokens moved to Binance during a 30-day span, marking the highest volume since March.
  • Trader Dom highlighted that converting $1.50 into a support level represents the crucial short-term technical challenge.
  • The token faces resistance between $1.45–$1.50, with initial support positioned at $1.36–$1.39 beneath present levels.

XRP has successfully regained the $1.40 price threshold following a strong bounce from recent bottom levels, as market attention centers on substantial whale movements and the critical $1.50 resistance barrier.

The digital asset recently surged from approximately $1.25 to reach $1.44 before experiencing a modest retracement toward the $1.37–$1.40 range. This upward movement has positioned XRP near a significant technical barrier.

Near-term technical charts identify resistance in the $1.45 to $1.50 corridor. Beyond this zone, market participants are monitoring price levels around $1.55–$1.58.

Large Holders Add $2.2 Billion in XRP Tokens

Cryptocurrency market analyst Ali Martinez published Santiment data on X revealing that major XRP wallet addresses added approximately 1.54 billion tokens during a 96-hour window.

$2 BILLION IN XRP BOUGHT BY WHALES

Whale activity on the XRP network has surged over the past 96 hours.

Large holders appear to have accumulated roughly 1.54 billion $XRP, worth around $2.2 billion.

Based on prevailing market prices, these acquisitions represented roughly $2.2 billion in value. The monitored wallet addresses expanded their collective holdings to approximately 9.81 billion XRP.

While the wallet metrics demonstrate increased accumulation among the tracked whale cohort, the specific motivations behind individual holder purchases remain undisclosed.

Trading platform activity has also intensified. CryptoQuant data indicated approximately 1.6 billion XRP in aggregate whale deposits to Binance during the preceding 30-day period.

This figure represented the peak level observed since March. While exchange deposits can facilitate trading activity, transfers to Binance don’t necessarily signal sellers’ intentions.

Market analyst Dom noted on X that XRP recently validated its three-month and six-month rolling VWAP levels as support zones for the first time in over a year.

Dom emphasized that the crucial near-term level is $1.50, suggesting that establishing it as support could pave the way toward $1.80 or beyond. He observed that XRP has traded beneath this threshold for approximately 230 days.

Technical Outlook: $1.50 Barrier in Focus

Another technical chart posted by Ali Martinez illustrated an inverse head-and-shoulders formation with a neckline positioned near $1.55. Martinez indicated XRP was approaching a potential breakout that could trigger a 35% advance if the neckline is breached.

Analyst Crypto Patel shared a longer-duration chart identifying resistance zones around $1.70 and $3. His extended technical projections range from $10 to $18, though these ambitious targets require XRP to overcome closer resistance levels first.

Patel marked support levels around $1 and $0.60 on his extended-term framework. Shorter-duration charts position nearer support around $1.28.

A separate communication from BankXRP on X indicated that the proposed Volatility Shares 3x XRP ETF debut has been postponed until October 18 following a September 18 regulatory filing.

Moving average indicators show XRP trading above its seven-day, 20-day, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, while RSI measurements in the low-to-mid 50s remain within neutral range.

For XRP’s current price action, the $1.45–$1.50 zone represents the immediate resistance barrier, while $1.36–$1.39 constitutes the first support area beneath the prevailing market level.
