Luminosity Gaming has added yxngstxr to its Counter-Strike 2 roster, completing the squad the organization has been building since its high-profile return to the scene in July 2026. The Swedish rifler, 21, left HEROIC on or around August 24, 2026, after a difficult few months that included a spell on the bench.
The signing slots yxngstxr into a roster that already features afro, Rainwaker, Bymas, AZUWU, and veteran IGL lux. That core group arrived together from Monte when Luminosity officially came back to CS2 on July 1, 2026, ending a seven-year absence from competitive Counter-Strike.
A rocky exit from HEROIC
Yxngstxr joined HEROIC in January 2025, but the arrangement unraveled gradually over the following 18 months. New signings and coaching staff changes at HEROIC through early July 2026 pushed him to the bench, and by late August his departure was finalized.
During his time with HEROIC, yxngstxr competed at multiple BLAST events, gaining experience on some of the most visible stages in competitive Counter-Strike.
Born October 22, 2004, he turned 21 last year.
Luminosity’s broader comeback story
Luminosity Gaming was once a fixture in North American Counter-Strike, and its return under founder Steve Maida carries the explicit ambition of restoring that legacy. Maida has spoken publicly about wanting to rebuild Luminosity into a competitive force rather than simply planting a flag and collecting slot fees.
Monte was a Ukrainian organization that competed at a respectable mid-tier level in European CS2 before its roster became available. Luminosity scooped up five players in one move, acquiring a unit that already had established chemistry and communication patterns.
