Binance expands tokenized stock offering with GameStop listing

GameStop, the meme-stock mascot of the 2021 retail trading frenzy, has found a new home on a crypto exchange. Binance added GameStop to its bStocks product on August 12, 2026, making the tokenized shares available as collateral for cross and portfolio margin trading on the platform.

What bStocks actually are

Think of bStocks like a receipt for a real share. Each token is backed one-to-one by an actual U.S. equity held by a legal custodian, so owning a GameStop bStock (ticker: GMEB) means there is a real GME share sitting in a regulated account somewhere, not just a synthetic bet.

The tokens are issued by BTech Holdings Limited, a Binance affiliate regulated under the Abu Dhabi Global Market framework. The exchange tried a similar tokenized stock product in 2021, only to shut it down within months after regulators in Germany, the UK, and Hong Kong flagged concerns about how the product was structured and whether users were receiving proper disclosures.

This time, the bStocks run on BNB Smart Chain and are structured to satisfy the ADGM’s requirements, with a custodian holding the underlying shares. The product remains restricted to eligible users in specific markets. Users can move their bStocks into a crypto wallet, use them as collateral for leveraged positions, and trade them around the clock rather than during exchange hours.

Growth that is hard to ignore

Binance launched bStocks in June 2026. By late July, the product had crossed $500 million in assets under management. That is seven weeks of growth.

The catalog has expanded to over 46 listings. Alongside GameStop, users can get tokenized exposure to NVIDIA, Tesla, and other names that tend to attract speculative interest.

It is worth noting that other platforms have their own tokenized versions of GME. Binance is drawing a clear distinction between GMEB and those third-party products, positioning its version as backed and regulated rather than synthetically constructed.

What this means for the tokenized equity market

The $500M AUM figure is meaningful not just for Binance but as a signal for the broader tokenized securities space. Binance’s ADGM regulatory structure provides a foundation, but it does not automatically extend to users in the US, EU, or other major markets with their own securities frameworks. Eligible jurisdictions are restricted for a reason.
