Romain Bigeard has made a habit of pulling back the curtain on competitive League of Legends. The G2 Esports general manager just dropped the team’s scrimmage data for the LEC 2026 Spring split, revealing a 52.8% overall win rate in practice matches heading into the tournament.
The numbers behind the curtain
G2’s 52.8% scrim win rate marks a notable decline from Bigeard’s previously disclosed figures. In earlier splits, the GM shared win rates of 61.3% and 58%. During LEC Versus, he revealed a 64% scrim win rate with a 159-88 record.
Karmine Corp emerged as G2’s toughest opponent in the practice room, which tracks perfectly with what happened on stage. GIANTX was the team G2 scrimmaged against most frequently.
The KC difficulty rating is particularly interesting given the finals outcome. G2 defeated Karmine Corp 3-2 in the LEC 2026 Spring grand final, a series that went the full distance.
Why sharing scrim data matters
Bigeard has been bucking that convention since taking up the GM role in late 2023. His willingness to publish these numbers serves multiple purposes. It builds fan trust through transparency, it creates content and conversation around the team, and it subtly signals confidence.
The LEC 2026 Spring featured 10 partner teams, including G2, KC, Fnatic, and GIANTX among others.
Context and competitive implications
G2 Esports’ Spring title, clinched with that 3-2 victory over KC, reaffirms their position at the top of the LEC. When Bigeard first started sharing these figures, G2 was winning nearly two out of every three practice games, with a 64% rate. Now they’re barely clearing the 50% mark at 52.8%.
Karmine Corp’s emergence as both G2’s toughest scrim partner and their finals opponent validates the French organization’s trajectory. Taking a series to five games against G2 in the final, after giving them the most trouble in scrims, demonstrates KC’s competitiveness across both practice and stage play.
