Paris Saint-Germain agrees personal terms with Yan Diomandé through 2031

PSG has agreed personal terms with 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomandé, currently at RB Leipzig, on a contract running through 2031.

Liverpool tried. PSG won the room.

Liverpool entered the race with serious intent, submitting offers in the region of €109M for Diomandé. RB Leipzig rejected those bids.

The reported valuation window for Diomandé sits between €90M and €130M. Liverpool’s ceiling offer landed somewhere inside that range.

Diomandé has reportedly expressed a clear personal preference for PSG, a preference rooted in something older than transfer fees and contract lengths. His father was a PSG supporter, and that childhood association with the club appears to have carried real weight in the decision.

Who is Yan Diomandé, and why does this matter?

Diomandé was born on November 14, 2006, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and plays as a winger for RB Leipzig and the Ivory Coast national team. He came into wider European focus during the 2026 FIFA World Cup and built on that visibility throughout his Bundesliga campaign.

A deal through 2031 means Diomandé would be tied to PSG until he is 24 years old.

The transfer discussions surfaced in early to mid-June 2026, placing this squarely in the summer window.

Liverpool now faces the prospect of watching a player they valued at over €100M develop at a direct rival. The €109M offer from Liverpool that was rejected suggests Leipzig is not in a rush to accept a discount, but a player who has verbally committed to a rival destination rarely stays long.
