Tottenham Hotspur signs Antonin Kinsky to new 5+1 year contract

Tottenham Hotspur has locked down goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky with a new five-year contract that includes an option for a sixth, extending his stay at the North London club through 2032.

Kinsky arrived at Spurs from Slavia Prague in January 2025 for £12.5 million plus add-ons. Eighteen months later, he’s gone from emergency cover to the undisputed No. 1.

From backup plan to building block

Originally brought in to provide cover during an injury crisis in Tottenham’s goalkeeping department, the Czech keeper adapted quickly enough to claim the starting spot by the business end of the 2025-26 campaign. At just 22 years old, he played a pivotal role in the team’s late-season push.

Contract negotiations reportedly commenced shortly after Tottenham’s season concluded in June, with the full agreement reached between June 25-26, 2026.

The timing also coincides with a broader reshuffling of Spurs’ goalkeeping department. Guglielmo Vicario, who was the established first choice before Kinsky’s arrival, has been the subject of departure discussions. Martin Dubravka has been brought in as backup.

Locking down a young, high-performing goalkeeper on a deal that could run until he’s 28 provides structural stability. Goalkeepers tend to hit their peak in their late twenties and maintain elite performance well into their thirties.
