VCT EMEA sets Grand Final rematch between Team Heretics and Team Vitality in London

Team Heretics and Team Vitality just delivered one of the most electric Grand Finals in VCT EMEA history, and now the stage is set for a rematch on the international circuit. Both squads punched their tickets to VALORANT Masters London after a grueling five-map series that ended 3-2 in favor of Team Heretics on May 17.

How the Grand Final played out

The VCT EMEA Stage 1 Grand Final in Berlin was the kind of series that makes you forget you’ve been watching a screen for three hours straight. Team Heretics took Breeze 13-10 in a relatively clean opener, but Lotus immediately told a different story, stretching to overtime before Heretics edged it 15-13.

Down 0-2, Team Vitality responded with a dominant 13-7 performance on Pearl, the most lopsided map of the entire series, and suddenly the momentum had flipped entirely.

Split was a knife fight. Vitality pushed Heretics to the brink, but ultimately fell 13-11. That gave Team Heretics a 3-1 lead, though calling it comfortable would be deeply dishonest.

The final map, Haven, went to overtime as well, finishing 15-13 in Heretics’ favor. The series has been described as one of the best Grand Finals the EMEA region has ever produced.

For Team Heretics, the map scores tell the story: 13-10, 15-13, 13-7, 13-11, 15-13.

What Masters London means for both teams

The Berlin result did more than hand Heretics a trophy. It qualified both teams for VALORANT Masters London, the next major international event on the VCT calendar.

For Team Vitality, the loss stings, but the qualification is what matters most. Losing a five-map Grand Final by a combined margin of roughly ten rounds across the series is not a crisis. Vitality demonstrated they can go toe-to-toe with the best team in the region and came within a few crucial rounds of flipping the entire result.
